History of Lebanon Bible Church
In 1987 several individuals started meeting on a regular basis for a home Bible Study in Lebanon. Soon the group had grown to over fifteen people and it became evident the Lord was leading them to start a new church. By September of 1988, the Lebanon Bible Church had been formed and was meeting in the Lebanon Elementary School gym.
Ron Denlinger was the first pastor. Due to severe illnesses with the Denlinger children, in 1989, Ron and Joan Denlinger found it necessary to return to their extended families in Pennsylvania. At that time RHMA (the Rural Home Missions Association) sent Ed Howry to fill in as interim pastor. Ed helped us find Mike Brubaker who became our pastor in January of 1990.
In 1992 the Church started renting the Synagogue building located on Goshen Hill Road in Lebanon. In 1995 LBC purchased the Synagogue property and later in that year Mike became the founding pastor of Christian Life Chapel in Colchester. Art Langdon began preaching on an interim basis in June of 1995 and has been the pastor since October of 1995. We regard the Bible as the final rule for all faith and practice. We are an independent, non-denominational, evangelical church, which is governed by a Council of Elders. Art Langdon and Edson Calderwood are presently serving as elders. Edson is one of the founding members of the church.
